While this may seem like you are jumping the gun a bit, the best way to see if outsourcing jobs is something that you are not only interested in, but comfortable with, is to test out the system.
It is completely free to signup with oDesk and by registering an account with you, you will have access to a lot more information about the over 500,000 workers on the site and you can look at how the process works from the backend.

GEO Arbitrage EbookI have taken the time to write about the concept of geo arbitrage (outsourcing jobs overseas), and made sure that it was something that not only explained what was involved but also look at why we should be doing it – including some of the common mistakes that most first time outsourcers make.
Including where you can find over 500,000 workers ready to work for as little as $1 an hourĀ  – (page 17)

Start Outsourcing Something Small

You will never fully be able to know if outsourcing is something that will work for you until you try it for yourself. So the last thing I would like to advice you to do is to log into oDesk and hire someone!

The best thing to do is to start with something small – a job that if not done right, will not have any affect on your business. This is your outsourcing test.

For me, my outsourcing test was to get 10 articles written for a niche blog. It was something simple and if it didn’t work out – I probably could have just written them myself. But to cut a long story short, I found an amazing writer (who I only paid $1.60/article) and have since gone on to hiring staff on a part-time basis, completing more advanced tasks.

I am sure by now you would have heard about the opportunity to hire overseas workers at a much lower rate than you would most likely pay if you were to hire someone local. This idea of outsourcing jobs overseas has been termed ‘geo arbitrage‘ and is a lot easier and safer than most people think.

Using an outsourcing website such as oDesk (who I personally use), makes outsourcing jobs overseas a whole lot easier, because with over half a million people ready to work and a track record that shows over $130 million in transactions – where else would you find this type of applicant pool for your job?

How To Start Outsourcing Jobs Overseas?

It can be quite risky relying on overseas workers and a lot of people who try outsourcing jobs overseas communicate with their new overseas employees the exact same way as they would a local employee – and that couldn’t be more wrong!

While I recommend you head over to oDesk and create a free account with them and start getting familiar with the way the website works, I would also advice you to grab a free copy of my outsourcing book called GEO Arbitrage, and get familiar with the process. Not only will it explain the whole concept of outsourcing your jobs overseas, but I will also keep you updated with ways that you can improve the process (using personal examples from my own outsourcing experiences).
